(a) (b) (A) By a State member bank for the establishment of a domestic branch or other facility that would be authorized to receive deposits, (B) To become a bank holding company (except as provided in § 225.15 of this chapter), (C) By a bank holding company to acquire ownership or control of shares or assets of a bank, or to merge or consolidate with any other bank holding company, (D) To become a savings and loan holding company (except as provided in § 238.14 of this chapter), and (E) By a savings and loan holding company to acquire ownership or control of shares or assets of a savings association, or to merge or consolidate with any other savings and loan holding company, the applicant shall cause to be published a notice in the form prescribed by the Board.
