Cookbook | Recipes | Ingredients | Equipment | Techniques | Cookbook Disambiguation Pages | Recipes | Pastries and desserts | German cuisine Schwarzwälder kirschtorte, or Black Forest cake in English, is a traditional German dessert. This version puts two different kinds of cherries between layers of cocoa torte, filled with a generous amount of whipped cream. It is freely adapted from a recipe of the same name in the cookbook La dolce Wiener: Süße Verführungen von Apfelstrudel bis Zimtschnecken by German–Austrian television chef Sarah Wiener. This is a celebration cake for events that benefits from being made the night before, so the flavors can blend. It must be stored in the refrigerator.
